CO2 valorisation in the European Green Deal

CO2 valorisation will play a major role in the upcoming European Green Deal Call. According to the proposal, potential projects are expected to demonstrate industrial application and therefore increase the TRL from 4-5 to 7 in the course of the projects. Projects can have a duration of up to 5 years and should have a major impact on the advancement of the field.

The European Green Deal Call will mobilise research and innovation to foster a just and sustainable societal transition aiming at ‘leaving nobody behind’.

Projects are expected to deliver tangible and visible results relatively quickly and show how research and innovation can provide concrete solutions for the Green Deal main priorities.

The call is expected to be launched mid September 2020 and includes in proposal one topic dedicated to catalytic conversion of CO2 with the integration of renewable energy under the Green Deal's area 3: Industry for a clean and circular economy.

The EU Commission will provide  opportunities to find potential project partners at the EU R&I Days  (22-24 September 2020), see here.
